Whitehawk 1 WTFC 1 - 18.01.11
1a.WEBSITE :Small, but maintained fairly regularly 3/5
1b.FORUM : Under construction, so it says 0/5
2.GROUND :Pitch not in bad nick, but there is a terrific slope
from one end to other, which I'm told doubles up as a dry ski run in the
summer. One small stand, and a small covering behind one of the goals. This
ground is not in my opinion up to step 4 grade, and if they were to
obtain promoting would need a big make over to please the ground
assessors 4/10
3.PARKING : Poor unlit access to the ground with a small gravel car park 5/10
4.ADMISSION :£8 Adults, £5 OAP/ concessions down to FREE for U16's 7/10
5.CUISINE :Best part of the night, very good cheeseburger at
£2.50, served by cheerful and friendly staff (cheerful and friendly being
a rarity in these parts) 9/10
6.BAR : Portakabin style bar with TV showing a nature programme
about puffins and the beer although ok was expensive at £6.40 for a
lager and a Guinness 5/10
7.TOILETS :Small in the bar but well maintained and a portakbin behind the 'stand' 7/10
8.PROGRAMME :£2 what a waste of money. A colour production full of adverts and out of date materials.
(Mark Lane is still manager according to this) 1/10 (for getting the date right on the front)
9.CLUB SHOP : Could not find one 0/10
10. LOCALS :Obnoxious bunch by the bar who took great pleasure in
using agricultural language to the full extent, mainly at the
linesman, referee, Blackman, Pulman, their goalkeeper and Aaron. Not really a
family club then. 0/10
OVERALL IMPRESSION. Dreadful place. Poor access, had to let ourselves
in, shallow end and deep end of a pitch and gobby crowd. Still on the plus
side the burger was nice and Brighton seafront did look pretty at
nighttime.
