What a cracking game of football! The visitors had the best of the first ten minutes, but after that, there were chances either end. Lloydy came very close with a header from a corner that he probably should have buried; Cory had a goal ruled out for an apparent offside, but as the ball bounced off the keeper after some pinball in the area, the goal would probably have been disallowed for the handball anyway (the lino on that side had a pretty dodgy first half).

A bit of a nervous start against a side packed with young hopefuls,who lacked guidence. Horsham had 5 new starters today, so even to the home crowd were going to be a mystery what their performance would be.

WTFC 0 Maidstone Utd 1 (Friendly) - 10.08.10

A game that Whitstable could have won, and a very decent performance against a team in the next league up - especially in the second half when Whitstable played some decent possession football.

Maidstone scored in the first three minutes, whilst Whitstable were still in the dressing room. GS mis-timed his tackle (I am told) and from the resulting quick throw, a player wide right whipped in a low cross that was glanced gently past an outstretched Fewell low to his right.
