WTFC 2 Dover Athletic 2 - 25.08.07

Hessenthaler's Dover travelled to lowly Whitstable with a 100% record. Perhaps because they are favourites to win the league, Dover seemed to approach the game with a degree of complacency. Did they expect a walkover? If so, Whitstable had other ideas making the favourites seem distinctly average. Josh Maine (below left) and Steven Lloyd (below right) at centre back were mountains who stood in the way of a fairly sustained, but ultimately weak, attack.

WTFC 2 Walton & Hersham 1 - 22.03.08

Walton & Hersham were relegated last season and had proved a tough opponent to crack at their place on 25 August. AC went off injured in that game and the long grass rendered Whitstable's passing game nugatory. Whitstable succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against a side that really looked nothing special. The return leg was a different affair as Whitstable welcomed their former striker, Jon Neal, back to The Belmont.
