The Relegation battle intensifies.

Whitstable don't play well against teams in green. Unfortunately, many of the teams in this league don that colour. Leatherhead, who sported a Bay-esque blue when they lost at The Belmont in 2007, were back in home colours on a terrible playing surface. Sporting a new-look away strip of red shirts and black shorts did not make much difference as Whitstable returned to their inconsistent worst despite starting reasonably brightly.

Leatherhead 1 WTFC 2 - 31.01.09

Pre-match, there was some talk on the terraces about whether Tom Parker was cutting the mustard in the middle of the park and the consensus seemed to be a lack of consistency and goals on his part. He must have overheard the conversation as he not only played well but also scored his first goal of the season, and for as long as I remember. It is also obvious why the manager likes him, because his voice is always heard on the pitch, irrespective of how well he is playing.
