Tuesday 6th November was a great night for football fans, especially supporters of Liverpool and Whitstable Town. Whilst history was being made at Anfield with the Red Men putting an historic 8 goals past Besiktas in the Champions League, the recently struggling Oystermen put on an impressive performance against Croydon Athletic - a team they had last met in the FA Cup qualifiers last season and beaten 1-0 at home. WTFC 3 Croydon Athletic 2 - 19.08.08

Croydon Athletic turned up not only in a very nice coach, but also with a couple of potentially tasty players in their team: Mark De Bolla (ex Ebbsfleet) and Simon Osborn (ex Palace).  Osborn displayed his qualities throughout until cramp set in late on and scored an excellent individual effort 18 minutes into the game.
