Corinthian-Casuals 3 WTFC 3 - 16.10.07

Posted by Per Laleng on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, In : Archived match report

On paper and recent form, this looked set to be an even game with both teams on equal points before the game. But Corinthian-Causals had the disadvantage of having failed to win at home so far this season. On the back of two wins and a great game of attacking football last Saturday, Whitstable's confidence should have been sky-high. And for the first 10 minutes or so it was pretty much all one way traffic in the direction of the home side's goal with John Akinde causing all sorts of proble...

Gold at the end of the Rainbow

The return of Andy Constable to the Belmont in a blue shirt coincided with Town's first real "six-pointer" of the season.

(AC considers the new Whitstable partnership of Lawrence and Neal)

Chatham w
ere one place and a point above Whitstable before the game and their away form was remarkably similar to the Oystermen's home form - pretty unremarkable on both scores.

But the headline in The T...

(The Ashford captain celebrates their third)

By most accounts, Whitstable had given bottom of the league Molesey a lacklustre game on Saturday. The 1-1 score-line tells only half the story. One Ashford fan who had scouted Whitstable in that game commented on their forum that Molesey should have won 4-1! Such observations should worry Whitstable whose recent unbeaten form is only partly explicable by good displays of attacking football. The high-water mark was arguably reached against Leath...

WTFC 4 Croydon Athletic 2 - 06.11.07

(Jake Gess at right back crosses infront of the dugout)

Tuesday 6th November was a great night for football fans, especially supporters of Liverpool and Whitstable Town. Whilst history was being made at Anfield with the Red Men putting an historic 8 goals past Besiktas in the Champions League, the recently struggling Oystermen put on an impressive performance against Croydon Athletic - a team they had last met in the FA Cup qualifiers last season and beaten 1-0 at home. The results warmed ...
