(The Ashford captain celebrates their third)
By most accounts, Whitstable had given bottom of the league Molesey a lacklustre game on Saturday. The 1-1 score-line tells only half the story. One Ashford fan who had scouted Whitstable in that game commented on their forum that Molesey should have won 4-1! Such observations should worry Whitstable whose recent unbeaten form is only partly explicable by good displays of attacking football. The high-water mark was arguably reached against Leath... Croydon Athletic 1 WTFC 2 - 19.04.08
Liam Quinn is congratulated by his team mates on a well-taken header
Contrary to my earlier predictions where I suggested that Leatherhead were too far away to be caught, Whitstable went into this game zooming past Leatherhead and catching up with their fellow promotees Chipstead. Seager changed his formation for this encounter, with three centre backs, two wing backs, and Bagley partnering Cory upfront. The whispers were that Pulman was late turning up and that's why he found himself on the b... Continue reading ...

(Jake Gess at right back crosses infront of the dugout)
Tuesday 6th November was a great night for football fans, especially supporters of Liverpool and Whitstable Town. Whilst history was being made at Anfield with the Red Men putting an historic 8 goals past Besiktas in the Champions League, the recently struggling Oystermen put on an impressive performance against Croydon Athletic - a team they had last met in the FA Cup qualifiers last season and beaten 1-0 at home. The results warmed ... Continue reading ...

Cory celebrates Bagley's wonderstrike
Burgess Hill Town football club is situated in the middle of a large housing estate yet only attracted 137 fans on Tuesday night. Maybe it was the cold; maybe it was the fact that there were various Champions League games on telly. But it seems they rarely attract in excess of 200 spectators which is a shame because they play some good football. Their right winger in particular was not afraid to have a shot at every conceivable opportunity and this made fo... Continue reading ...
Merstham 2 WTFC 1 - FA Cup qualifier 13/09/08
I wasn’t sure whether to go to this game after recent performances, but I am glad I did even if Liverpool's success against United had put me in a good mood (and even if I sat in the car listening to the game not knowing that SKY was showing in the club house!). This was a much better outing from the Oystermen. It may sound like a cliché, but this was a game of two halves and in the second, there really was only one team in it, and that was Whitstable. Seags lined up with a 4-4-2 forma... Continue reading ...
Merstham 1 WTFC 1 - 01.11.08
Absolutely atrocious conditions and I think I'm right in saying that most of us were a little surprised the game was not called off at some point. But fair play to the referee who let it continue despite the puddles. It was bad enough walking from one end to the other, so credit to the players who stuck to the task in hand. Whitstable's goal was a carbon copy of the goal scored against Crowborough with Liam Quinn powering a great header from a free kick. If we can reproduce a few more of... Continue reading ...
WTFC 3 Croydon Athletic 2 - 19.08.08
Croydon Athletic turned up not only in a very nice coach, but also with a couple of potentially tasty players in their team: Mark De Bolla (ex Ebbsfleet) and Simon Osborn (ex Palace). Osborn displayed his qualities throughout until cramp set in late on and scored an excellent individual effort 18 minutes into the game. He had already made his mark three minutes earlier with a beautiful cross-field pass to Clayton whose shot was parried by Fewell. The goal came shortly after Liam Quinn (of... Continue reading ...
Ashford Town 4 WTFC 0 - 25.08.08
If Saturday’s performance against Burgess Hill was the worst in recent history then today’s game could surely not have been far behind? Oysterman of the match by a long way was Kevin Fewell. And if the keeper, who let in four, was by far the best player on the pitch, it really says very little for the rest of the team. That said, both veteran Whitstable players Tom Parker and Rob Thomas did pretty well amongst some other very ordinary performances.
There was a debate about whether the te... Continue reading ...
